Ranveer Singh morphed the nude picture circulating on social media
Mumbai: Actor Ranveer Singh has morphed the nude picture circulating on social media as his own. In his statement to the Mumbai Police, Ranveer said that the private parts visible in the picture were morphed.
On July 26, the Mumbai Police had registered an FIR against the picture that was circulated on social media. But Ranveer claimed that the case-based image was not part of the photo shoot, which included the seven images he uploaded on Instagram.
The police have sent the image to the forensic laboratory to check if it was morphed. Ranveer will get a clean chit in the case if forensic tests prove that he morphed. A case has been registered on the basis that private parts were visible in the picture.
The pictures uploaded by Ranveer on Instagram do not fall within the definition of obscenity as private parts are not visible. Police officials said that none of the pictures uploaded by Ranveer on Instagram showed private parts as provided by the complainants.
Last July, Ranveer did a photoshoot for a New York-based magazine. Later, a complaint was raised against the actor and a case was registered on July 26.
The case was registered under IPC sections 292 (sale of obscene books), 293 (sale of obscene material to youth) and 509 (insulting womanhood by word or deed).
