Israel’s young national team will try to qualify for the European Championship for the third time in its history, when it meets the Irish national team in the promotion playoffs for the Euro 2023 tournament. The games will be played on September 23 and September 27, with the first meeting being in Dublin. Today (Thursday), coach Guy Luzon announced his pairing for the pair of meetings.
Among the interesting call-ups, we can of course mention Maccabi Tel Aviv goalkeeper Daniel Peretz, and the Yellows’ midfielder Oscar Gloch, who will eventually be part of the young team and were not called up for the senior team. El Yam Kanzpolski, Tai Abed and Idan Toklomati, who starred in the youth team at the last European Championship, will also be part of the squad.
This is a revolution compared to the group stage, when Stav Nachmani, Arad Bar, Or Balorian, Maor Levy, Aviel Zargari, Oz Bilo, Zohar Zasno and Ilai Almkais were left out.
It should be noted that Or Dedia, Maron Gantos, Guy Badash and Rotem Hatuel are on the waiting list for the senior national team and some of them will be invited to the game against Malta. This means that all the players of the youth team that Luzon will ask for after Albania – he will receive. In other words, players like Lial Abda and Eden Karatsev will help and not fly to Malta.
