Medina: Saudi Geological Survey has found large deposits of gold and copper in Medina region. Officials announced that they have succeeded in finding gold ore within the boundaries of Aba Al Raha, the shield of Umm al-Baraq Hejaz, in the Madinah region. Officials stated that copper ore was also found in four places in Al Madiq area of Wadi Al Farah region of Madinah.

These discoveries in different places in Saudi Arabia will contribute to the development of the national economy. This will also bring an influx of local and international investors to invest in the booming mining sector. 13 Saudi foreign companies are vying for a license in the Umm al-Damar mining area located in the Madinah region. Last month, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced that 13 bidders had been prequalified for the Ummul Damar exploration license.
