Veteran rapper Ice-T posted a frustrated post about what he called the ‘gang culture’ in Los Angeles, calling the California city a “dangerous place” – even for celebrities.

The musician and actor, star of “Law & Order: SUV,” pointed out how hip-hop stars are being wary in Los Angeles because of the city’s rising crime rate. “People still attack me for my comments about LA’s gang culture,” he wrote. “If you notice, rappers in Los Angeles don’t wear a lot of jewelry… Me, Snoop, Cube, Dre, Game, Kendrick.”

“The list goes on,” continued IS-T. “It’s not because we’re poor. Los Angeles is just a dangerous place, whether you’re a rapper or not. There’s no reason to tempt fate.”

64-year-old Ice-T’s words came after rapper PnB Rock was shot dead during a robbery while dining at a restaurant in Los Angeles at lunchtime. The suspect, who apparently saw on social media that the rapper was in the restaurant, arrived with a firearm, demanded the jewelry – and after shooting fled the scene.

The death of PnB Rock is one of the latest crime incidents recorded in LA. The district’s congresswoman, Karen Bass, recently announced that her home was broken into and weapons were stolen.
