New Delhi: Another milestone awaits Indian player Virat Kohli as he prepares for the Twenty20 series against Australia.

Kohli is just 98 runs away from the milestone of 11,000 runs in T20Is. Kohli will become the first Indian player to score 98 runs in the series against Aussies. Kohli currently has 10,902 runs at an average of 40.37 from 349 matches in IPL and international cricket. This includes six centuries and 80 fifties.

Kohli ended his century drought of more than two-and-a-half years by scoring a century against Afghanistan in the earlier Asia Cup. Along with this, after Suresh Raina, KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda and Harmanpreet Kaur, Kohli also became the seventh Indian player to score a century in Twenty20. Kohli’s unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan also made him the highest score by an Indian batsman in T20Is.

Apart from this record, Kohli is on the verge of becoming the second highest run scorer for India in international cricket. Kohli is only 62 runs short of Rahul Dravid’s tally of 24,064, which is currently second.

Kohli currently has 24002 runs in 468 international matches with 71 centuries and 124 fifties at an average of 53.81. India’s Twenty20 series against Australia is on September 20, 23 and 25.
