To promote the education of poor children studying in government schools in Tamil Nadu, to overcome malnutrition and avoid learning dropouts, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin yesterday launched a program to provide breakfast to students studying in government schools from class 1 to class 5.

Following this, 969 students studying in 8 Panchayat Union Primary Schools in the villages of Thiruvalluvar Road, Thiruvalluvar Road and Peramanoor Panchayat Union Primary School in the villages of Thiruvalluvar Road, Thiruvalluvar Road and Peramanoor Panchayat Union Primary School in the villages of Thiruvalluvar Road, Vallancheri, Vallanchery, Keezakaranai, Chattamangalam, Peramanoor and Peramanoor Extension in the villages of Thiruvalluvar Road in Chengalpattu district. 60,000 has been arranged to serve breakfast daily from a specially set up kitchen.

The opening ceremony for this was held yesterday at the Panchayat Union Primary School campus on Tiruvalluvar Road, Thiruvalluvar Road. Chengalpattu District Collector Rahul Nath presided over the opening of the newly established kitchen and tested the quality of the food by eating semolina, vegetable khichdi and sweets prepared to be served to the students.

Following this, in the presence of Kancheepuram Member of Parliament Selvam, MLAs Varalakshmi Madhusudhanan and Balaji, District Collector Rahulnath started the breakfast program by serving breakfast to the students at the Kiramalainagar Panchayat Union Primary School.

In this, Chiramalainagar City Council President Shanmugam, City Council Vice President Chitra Kamalakannan, Katangkolathur Union Committee President Udaya Karunakaran, Municipal Administrative Zonal Director Sasikala, Zonal Engineer Karupiah Raja, Chiramalainagar Municipal Commissioner Lakshmi, Municipal Engineer Venkatesan and many other members of the city council participated.

Nandivaram- Kuduvanchery Municipality Nellikuppam Road, Kamarajapuram Panchayat Union Model Primary School and Nandivaram Panchayat Union Primary School, Municipal Council President M. K. T. Karthik inaugurated the Chief Minister’s breakfast program by serving snacks to the students. City Council Deputy Chairman Advocate GK Loganathan, Municipal Commissioner Yumparithi, City Council members and many others were present. Following this, Chengalpattu District Collector Rahul Nath personally visited and inspected the breakfast program in 2 schools under Nandivaram-Kooduvanchery Municipality. MP Selvam, MLA accompanied him then. Varalakshmi Madhusudhan and many others were with him.

District Collector Dr. Aarthi inaugurated the program of providing breakfast to the male and female students of Kancheepuram Pattal Municipal Corporation Primary School.
