Both Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan were part of the unified Soviet Union. After the breakup of the Soviet Union, the two countries split into Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan.

The two countries share a border of about 1,000 km. Since the border is not fully demarcated, there is an issue between the two countries from time to time. These issues also lead to conflict between the two countries’ armies.

In this case, the conflict broke out again on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Kyrgyzstan accused Tajikistan of attacking two of its villages after crossing the border. Meanwhile, Tajikistan has accused Kyrgyzstan of attacking 7 of its villages. So far 27 people have died in this conflict.

Kyrgyzstan reported 24 casualties on its side. Meanwhile, preliminary information has been released that 3 people have died in Tajikistan.
