Let’s find out what you will get for your online subscription on PlayStation and Xbox – in addition to the games that will be awarded to the paying users of the Humble Choice project

The middle of the month is already behind us, and if you haven’t gotten around to collecting what you deserve as part of your monthly subscription on console or PC – this is the reminder for you to do it right now.

At Sony, subscribers to the PlayStation Plus service at all four existing levels will enjoy in September…you guessed it, three titles that will become theirs from now on and forever, with the familiar combination of PlayStation 4 versions that will also work on PlayStation 5 consoles without any graphical improvements and games that are optimized for PS5 owners only.

The most popular and significant title this month is Need for Speed: Heat, which successfully brought back some of the luster and interest to EA’s long-running racing series in 2019 before it went into an extended rest period (sorry – the remastered version for Hot Pursuit doesn’t really count) – on the PS4 version without Dedicated improvements for the new generation.

Sony’s other duo is the fighting title Granblue Fantasy Versus, from the creators of the Guilty Gear series and other popular games such as Dragon Ball FighterZ, and a lovely indie game called Toem which focuses on photography and was originally launched only one year ago, for Sony’s new generation console (and also for PCs and Nintendo’s Switch console).

Now that Sony also has its own unlimited access service to games for a fixed monthly fee, we can also mention the innovations and improvements on this front – when starting tomorrow, Tuesday 20 September, PlayStation Plus Premium and PlayStation Plus Deluxe (or PlayStation Plus Extra as it is known in some countries) will get access to Arkane Studion’s hit Deathloop, Ubisoft’s hits Watch_Dogs 2 and Assassin’s Creed Origins, action role-playing game Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and more.

At Microsoft, the free distributions as part of the Games With Gold initiative are not expected to knock consumers off their seats as usual – but they do include one shining gem that everyone without exception must know and try: the legendary Portal 2 from Wallab, which is available for free from now until September 30 and will remain permanently available for All subscribers who will add it to their library in this time period. Along with this excellent action-thinking game (in an old Xbox 360 version, with future support for all modern Xbox consoles of course) there is also the action game Gods Will Fall (which did not gain significant interest from the players even though it was already offered for free on PC before) and Double Kick Heroes, which is a unique combination of a music and rhythm game for an exciting two-dimensional action.

Microsoft’s list of add-ons for the popular Xbox Game Pass service gives it a win over Sony, it seems, with a larger selection that includes the same Deathloop, the racing game GRID Legends, the real-time strategy title Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation, the role-playing game of Ubisoft Assassin’s Creed Odyseey, the just-launched unique musical action title Metal: Hellsinger, the survival game Grounded coming out of the Early Access program and now officially launched, last year’s survival action hit Valheim and many others.

If you like as wide a variety as possible, there is no doubt that you should be a subscriber – whether it is Sony’s service for its consoles or Microsoft’s service for its consoles and personal computers.

Finally, we note that Humble Choice service subscribers on PCs can expect eight different games this month that will stay with them forever – with the in-depth and addictive strategy title Crusader Kings 3 and the open-world action title Just Cause 4: Reloaded as the most prominent, and other works such as Industria, Descenders and Crown Trick worth giving them a chance.

In addition, as a bonus, subscribers will also get access to the new two-dimensional action game Moonscars (marketed by the company responsible for Humble Choice and Humble Bundle) already on the day of its launch – on September 27. Enjoy!
