Riyadh: Prohibition on using the Saudi flag, names and images of rulers for commercial purposes. The ban is on commercial misuse of the Saudi flag, which includes the name of Allah, the monotheistic word (Kalima) and the national emblem ‘two swords and a palm tree’.
Also, the Ministry of Commerce said that no individuals or commercial organizations should use pictures, names, etc. of administrators or officials for their commercial purposes. The Ministry has confirmed that they are not permitted to be used in any publications, merchandise, products, media bulletins or special gifts. The ministry also explained that inspection tours are being conducted in markets in all regions of the country to control these violations at all times, including the National Day celebrations. Four years ago, commercial establishments were ordered to ban the use of the national symbol ‘two swords and a palm’ in commercial transactions.
