Dimitri Droisneau elected chef of the year by his peers

by time news

Not content with having won his third Michelin star in March – for his restaurant La Villa Madie, in Cassis (Bouches-du-Rhône) –, Dimitri Droisneau was elected chef of the year 2022 by his peers, announced the magazine Leader, Monday, September 19. This trophy results from the vote of the professionals quoted in the Michelin guide, at the call of this magazine, for those who have “best represented the profession in 2022”.

This discreet Norman who runs the establishment with his wife, Marielle Droisneau, indoors, was put in the spotlight during the Michelin guide ceremony in March. He has little presence on Instagram and at culinary events, and his attitude is the opposite of the majority in the industry, where media coverage and social networks are considered by most established chefs and rising stars as an element of survival. .

“A stay at home”

This does not prevent connoisseurs from appreciating his cuisine. “I’m a fan, I go to his house with my wife when I need sensuality and calm (…). Dimitri is humility, work”told Agence France-Presse in March, Marseille chef Alexandre Mazzia, three Michelin stars and chef of the year 2021. “We are going to experience a real stay at home” with a kitchen “very aromatic, a real signature, subtle and extremely powerful”according to Gwendal Poullennec, director of the Michelin guide.

Jordan Gasco, from Olivier Nasti’s restaurant (two stars), in Kaysersberg (Haut-Rhin), was crowned pastry chef of the year. Manon Bras, from the Christopher Coutanceau restaurant (three stars), in La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime), is the sommelier of the year, and Alicia Poupeney, from Jean Sulpice’s restaurant (two stars), in Talloires (Haute-Savoie) , gets the 2022 service award.
