Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu and Ajith Kumar’s 61 are shooting simultaneously. As both the films are almost at the completion stage, their films are getting ready to release simultaneously as expected by the fans.
Although Ajith and Vijay are contemporary rivals, neither film has released on the same day in more than 8 years. Last time in 2014, Thalapathy’s Jilla and Ajith’s Veeram released on the same Pongal day and blew up the theatres.

In this case, Thalapathy Vijay’s successor film will be released on Pongal, according to the information from the film crew. Amid wild expectations from fans, Ajith’s film is out of the race as it releases on Republic Day or a weekend in February.

Directed by Vamsi, the film stars Rashmika Mandhana, Prakashraj, Khushbu, Shyam and Yogi Babu along with actor Vijay. Music director Thaman had said that this film will be released for Diwali, but now it is releasing for Pongal.
Yesterday, reports surfaced that Ajith’s 61st film has been titled ‘Thunive Sub’. The film is directed by H. Vinod and produced by Boney Kapoor. The first look poster of the film will be released in October, the team has said.
