Barcelona record no financial loss and expect big profits

by time news

More than a year after the departure of Lionel Messi, Barça seem to be getting their heads above water from an economic point of view. The club didn’t register any losses last season.

After a turbulent summer marked by big spending on the transfer window and the activation of many economic levers, FC Barcelona announced Monday evening that the Catalan club had not recorded any losses over the past season. A turnover of 1.017 billion euros and a profit of 98 million euros over this period.

The Catalan club has also capped its budget for the 2022-2023 season, which started a few months ago. Barça thus forecasts 1.255 billion euros in revenue and a profit of 274 million euros.

Despite the arrivals of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Jules Koundé, Franck Kessié, Andreas Christensen, Hector Bellerin and Marcos Alonso, the Blaugrana do not seem to be in such a financial crisis as the summer rumors suggested. As a reminder, the Barcelona management had encountered difficulties in registering all their recruits with La Liga.
