The collaboration between Certific and PocDoc should lead to earlier detection of patients with complaints that may indicate cardiovascular disease using telemonitoring and self-tests. Early diagnosis, research and experimental evidence has proven to be a crucial factor in reducing deaths from heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases.
Self-test and telemonitoring
The solution that the two British startups are working on uses, among other things, a self-test for blood tests in combination with measurements that patients can also perform at home using a smartphone. Healthcare providers can then remotely monitor blood pressure, BMI and, crucially, quantitative lipid levels.
PocDoc’s technology allows anyone with a smartphone to perform an accurate blood test “at home” for serious illnesses, including cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Coupled with Certific’s certified remote medical diagnostics, the collaboration should lead to the large-scale offering of reliable medical self-tests that can easily be performed anywhere.
Pilots in VK
This solution developed by the partnership will be rolled out through a number of pilots, in conjunction with the UK’s NHS. This will initially happen in the UK, but eventually throughout Europe and worldwide.
