LLFI MP Danièle Obono assured Tuesday that the coordinator of the parliamentary group Adrien Quatennens, who admitted domestic violence, had “withdrawn from his parliamentary work” but that he was “not banned from the hemicycle” .

“We consider that he must be withdrawn, that means not having a public speech”, affirmed on BFMTV the deputy of Paris.

However “he is not banned from the hemicycle, he will be withdrawn from his parliamentary work” as “from his function as group coordinator”, she added.

Asked about a possible eviction of Adrien Quatennens from the LFI group, she replied that “no” because “we have acted and assumed his political withdrawal”.

A source within the LFI group told AFP that Adrien Quatennens “is stepping aside, it’s his decision. He has already stepped back from coordinating the movement, and is not at the Assembly. But he remains a deputy”.

Figure of the young guard of La France insoumise (LFI), Adrien Quatennens, under investigation after a handrail filed on domestic violence, announced Sunday that he was “withdrawing from his function of coordinator” of the movement, recognizing violence against his wife.

The president of the Renaissance deputies Aurore Bergé judged in front of the press that “from the moment when (Adrien Quatennens) recognized violence, I do not believe that his place is in the enclosure of a hemicycle”. “I’m not sure he’s welcome,” she added.

“His mandate was entrusted to him by the people, it would be up to the people to decide,” said Danièle Obono.

“It’s not all or nothing, it’s a crest line that we try to hold,” she explained.
