by time news

Today (Tuesday) clashes and prolonged heavy exchanges of fire took place in Nablus between the Palestinian security forces and the Palestinian factions.

Palestinian sources report that the Palestinian Authority arrested last night Musab Ashteyeh, the commander of the military wing of Hamas in Nablus. Ashteyeh evaded arrest attempts by the IDF several times in recent months.

As a result, exchanges of fire began during the night in Jenin, intense and unusual exchanges of fire between the Palestinian police and Hamas militants.

During the day the demonstrators protesting the arrest of the Hamas man threw rocks at vehicles and vehicles of the thwarting security while opening fire on them.

The main entrances to the city were blocked, and tires were set on fire.

Clashes also developed in the nearby villages and in the refugee camp in Lata. Palestinian Authority institutions in Nablus were closed following the general strike. Demonstrations against the PA were in Ramallah, and at Al Najah University.

Apparently at least one young man was killed during the day in riots in Nablus.
