A unifying memory project. Fifty years ago one of the most memorable attacks in Israeli history happened, when terrorists targeted members of the Israeli delegation at the Olympics held in Munich, Germany and murdered 11 athletes. Today (Wednesday) a state ceremony was held to mark fifty years of the term.
The TV channels are merging
One of the interesting ventures that sought to raise awareness of the eleven murdered people was a union between some of Israel’s leading television channels that for a few hours changed their channel logo to the number 11 in memory of the eleven martyrs. The channels that participated in the project: Channel 12, Channel 13, Channel 14, Erot HaSport and Channel 9 under the message “We are all 11 – remember the 11th victims of Munich”.

One of the initiators of the project Shlomo Koves wrote on his Facebook page: “A few months ago we realized at Bauman, together with the Olympic Committee in Israel, that too many young people in Israel had not heard at all about the massacre of the 11 athletes in Munich. And even for those of us who heard about it, the memory of this event is faded and covered in archival dust And we thought that this year, the 50th anniversary of this historic event, it was time to shake off the dust.” And that’s how the project ‘All of us 11’ came out.
As part of the project, the spaces will be immortalized not only on the screen of the television channels, but also on the football fields and on the TikTok network.
