Thiruvananthapuram: Khader committee recommendation for change of school timings. It is recommended that the school hours should be from 8 in the morning to 1 in the afternoon. It is also recommended to complete a five-year integrated course to become a teacher.

The second part of the Khader Committee report was submitted to the Education Department today. One of the key recommendations relates to changing school timings. The report recommends that school hours should be from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. The recommendation says that the best time for children to study is in the morning and in the afternoon they should go to other things including physical education.

Presently TTC, B.Ed. Qualified people become teachers. The recommendation of the committee also says that those who have completed the five-year integrated course should be made teachers instead. It will be implemented only if the recommendations are accepted by the government. The Khadar Committee was formed in 2017 as part of the implementation of the National Education Policy in Kerala. The first report of the committee was submitted to the government in 2019.
