The first peak moment of the 2022/23 season is fast approaching, when immediately after the team break, the leader Maccabi Tel Aviv will host the champion Maccabi Haifa in this season’s game. Already today (Thursday), more than a week before the game, all the tickets were sold out.
The Yellows as usual gave priority to those with a high outside score and tonight the sale was opened for Forever members, when in a few minutes all the remaining tickets were sold out. Even before that, the Greens announced that they had also sold all the seats to their fans.
Vladan Ivić’s team will hope to maintain its position at the top of the table, while Barak Becher will try to return to the top. After two years without a plate, this is the main goal in Kiryat Shalom and the way there goes through Sami Ofer, who saw two consecutive sweeps.
Last season the teams met three times at Sami Ofer. The first one, in the Champion of Champions, ended with 0:2 green. In the second came the turnaround that settled 2:3 and a debut victory in the home stadium for Maccabi Haifa in the league over Maccabi Tel Aviv, in the third the yellows won 1:3.
Immediately after the match, the champion will fly to Italy for the away match against Juventus, where the fans have also bought all the allocated tickets and over 1,200 greens will push the champion. The team announced that entry to the host stands will only be allowed with an Italian passport and asked fans without a ticket to avoid coming to the area.
