Three suspects were arrested in Long Beach, Calif., on Wednesday this week in connection with a jewelry store robbery that occurred earlier this year, according to Beverly Hills police.

The suspects — Deshawn Bell of Long Beach, Jimmy Lee Vernon of Gardena and a third unidentified juvenile — were arrested when Beverly Hills police and FBI tactical teams executed simultaneous arrest warrants at three different locations throughout Long Beach.

Bell was arrested and charged with commercial burglary and conspiracy. Vernon was arrested by California Highway Patrol officers in Barsto and charged with robbery. The unidentified youth was arrested by the Beverly Hills Police Department for commercial burglary. Police also located and collected evidence linking the suspects to the robbery during the warrant, such as a 9mm handgun and a high-capacity cartridge found at the location where Bell was arrested.

The suspects were allegedly involved in a robbery on South Beverly Drive that occurred on March 22, when an unknown number of suspects wearing masks and hooded sweatshirts allegedly stole millions of dollars in jewelry and luxury watches.

Another suspect, Ladel Tharp of Los Angeles, who was already in custody for an unrelated offense, was also charged with robbery in connection with the same incident.

The robbery happened around 1:45 p.m. March 22, when the masked suspects used hammers and weapons to break the front window of the Beverly Hills luxury jewelry store. Store owner Peter Sadji said the sound of the weapon shattering the glass sounded like gunshots, and he warned his employees to get to safety.

“I screamed to my employees to hit the floor. I hit the panic button and went under my desk,” he previously told Fox News. “I waited for the shooting to stop. I grabbed my gun and ran outside… They look like young kids,” he added at the time, describing the suspects. “Everyone is really excited.”

Although no one was hurt during the robbery, Sadji said he was robbed of between $3 million and $5 million in merchandise. The suspects fled in an SUV that was later identified and pursued by law enforcement.

Beverly Hills Police said the investigation is still ongoing and will continue until all remaining suspects are arrested and charged, they said.
