The company’s boss has been criticized by the public for installing cameras in toilets to monitor employees in China. A technology company in southeast China has installed CCTV in bathrooms to monitor phone use and smoking during breaks. In this situation, photos of employees using cell phones while smoking in the toilet were leaked online.

Three of them were caught sitting on the toilet smoking and using their cell phones. When asked about this, the company said the company used the images to warn other employees about violating company policies. But the photos are an invasion of privacy and many say it’s another example of “Big Brother” surveillance in China.
