“A few days ago the Russian President said that ‘high-level NATO officials had made nuclear threats against Russia’.” The Beijing newspaper Huanqiu Shibao thus assumes his pro-Russian position and adds that Putin recalled that “Russia ‘has many weapons to fight back’”, and “‘it’s not a bluff’”.
Huanqiu Shibao reminds that“uncontrolled nuclear war” will lead human society “in an abyss of destruction”, before denouncing the fact that“a dangerous sign is emerging”.
The Chinese newspaper seems to address this criticism to Russia without however naming it, saying that “nuclear weapons should not be a hand grenade strapped to the waist, ready to be waved around to scare people”. The editorial recalls that “The spiral of war is often unexpected, and there are no regret pills when it comes to nuclear war”.
