Victory on the card. To take the presidency of LR in early December, Éric Ciotti, Bruno Retailleau, Aurélien Pradié (and now Virginie Calmels) must convince Republican activists to vote for them. But a substantive marathon, parallel and less visible, is engaged by each of the candidates: to join as many sympathizers as possible to LR in the hope of making a difference in an uncertain ballot whose results could be tight. A “à la carte race” all the more necessary as the electorate, which was 130,000 during the primary in December 2021, has shrunk to nearly 60,000, only members having renewed their subscription in 2022 (until November 3) eligible to vote.
