Poontamalli: A large number of men and women working in online food delivery company ‘Swiggy’ have been on strike for a few days demanding implementation of the old wage system. Yesterday morning, more than 100 employees started a walk towards the head office of Swiggy.
Then, they said: We have been on strike since Monday. They are trying to bring our wages in the new scheme. We are coming insisting on the demand for payment of wages in the old system. So far no result is known. A request at the office in Nungambakkam is also of no avail. Thus, we are going to Bangalore on foot to meet the owner of the company in Bangalore. If our demand is not accepted, we have decided to leave the company, they said.
