Nestlé to invest Rs 5,000 crore in India; Employment opportunities will increase

Nestlé’s last investment was to increase production of Maggi noodles. Nestle will invest Rs 5,000 crore in India in three years.

Delhi: Nestlé, the global food and beverage company, will invest Rs 5,000 crore in India by 2025. Nestlé’s Chief Executive Officer Mark Schneider has announced plans to make major investments in India over the next three and a half years.

Nestlé currently has nine plants in the country. Nestlé is looking for new locations to set up more manufacturing units. Schneider further stated that there are plans to explore more products and launch new products.

Setting up of new manufacturing units will help create more jobs in India. Nestlé’s top 10 positions include establishments in India. Hence investing more will be beneficial. Nestle has been in India for over 110 years. Schneider added that this investment is for development activities, brand building, etc.

In 2020, Nestlé announced an investment of Rs 2,600 crore to expand the company’s capacity and factory in Sanand, Gujarat. Nestlé India’s revenue in 2021 is Rs 14,709.41 crore. The company last invested Rs 700 crore to open a plant at Sanand in Gujarat to scale up production of Maggi noodles.

Nestle India Chairman and Managing Director Suresh Narayanan said that Nestlé uses plant-based proteins and the new investment will be used to diversify its products.
