New Delhi: Saturday, September 24 marks 15 years since the MS Dhoni-led Indian team won the first Twenty20 World Cup final in 2007 by defeating Pakistan. When Pakistan needed 13 runs to win in the last over, captain Dhoni bowled Joginder Sharma. Joginder got India’s win by dismissing Misbah-ul-Haq. Now Sreesanth, who caught Misbah’s catch, has revealed why Dhoni bowled Joginder.

Sreesanth clarified that Dhoni is such a decision maker and Dhoni knows Joginder very well.

“Not many people know that we used to play for Indian Airlines. Dhoni bhai, myself, Yuv Pa (Yuvraj Singh), Bhajju Pa (Harbhajan Singh) etc all played for Indian Airlines. and Joginder Sharma for ONGC. We played many matches for these companies in Delhi and elsewhere. So Dhoni bhai knows very well the winning spirit of Jogi bhai. Dhoni knows that Jogi Bhai has done this (defending runs) not once or twice, but many times. He had a lot of faith in Jogi.” – Sreesanth clarified in an exclusive interview granted to Star Sports.
