The Quadrilateral Alliance (Quad) countries have pledged to work together to ensure cyber security and prevent state-sponsored cybercrime.
India, USA, Australia and Japan are included in Quad Federation. A meeting in which the foreign ministries of those countries participated was held in the United States on Friday. Minister S. Jaishang, US Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wang, Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa participated in the meeting.
A joint statement issued after the meeting said:
There has been an increase in government-sponsored cyberattacks against other countries. It is imperative that countries of the Commonwealth work together to prevent cybercrime. Countries commit to creating a safe and transparent cyberspace.
UN’s commitment to act responsibly to make cyberspace safer States undertake to cooperate in implementing the provisions. If Indo-Pacific countries work together to establish cyber security frameworks, the security of the region can be strengthened.

The QUAD Federation strongly opposes such efforts. Only if there is peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region can the entire region grow. QUAD provides full support to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The development of the Indo-Pacific region should be based on that alliance.
Reform needed: UN QUAD countries undertake to abide by the rules. The Quad will support the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. At the same time, the Federation also insists on the need for speedy reforms in the UN.
