Moscow; A study by the University of Washington in the United States has reported that a corona-like virus called ‘Costa-2’ has been detected in Russia. A virus called ‘Costa-2’ was discovered in bats in Russia.

It belongs to the subtype of ‘Sars Covid 2’ corona called ‘Serpicovirus’. It may pose a new threat to humans as it can also attack human cells. The virus is capable of escaping the immune response from the corona vaccine. This ‘Costa-2’ virus contains the ‘ACE-2’ protein that attacks human cells, similar to the one found in the corona virus.

This virus was first discovered in 2020. At the time, scientists did not estimate that it would affect humans. Later on further research found that it is also common in humans. It is reported to be present in bats, pangolins, raccoon dogs, Asian tree dogs, etc.
