New Year’s Eve and it seems that in the neighborhood of a house in the park in Or Yehuda it is mainly the stench that is celebrated. Before the holiday municipality Or Yehuda emptied the garbage cans scattered throughout the neighborhood, and once again, as in the previous times, large amounts of garbage water were spilled in the public area during the evacuation by the garbage truck. According to the residents, this water is supposed to be drained through a dedicated channel, but for some reason this does not happen, so the water that drains there is spilled all over Passed during the evacuation.

The residents of the neighborhood claim that theSanitary hazard This one popped up about six months ago, but then they attributed it to the rainwater. Seeing that the phenomenon continues until the summer days, and that their complaints at the municipal hotline are not handled, the residents decided to contact Mayor Liat Shohat in a personal letter. The letter was sent to Shohat’s office about two months ago.
In the letter, the representatives of the neighborhood committee complained to Shochat that they had alerted representatives of the sanitation department and the municipal hotline several times, but the problem was not addressed. “Winter is around the corner and God forbid with the overflowing of those bins without an urgent and proper solution, we may find ourselves in nothing less than a large-scale sanitary disaster,” the letter reads.
Now, two months after sending the letter, it seems that the phenomenon still continues. In the many photos and videos that reached the ‘Ono News’ system on the eve of the holiday, many cans are seen still spraying garbage juice around the neighborhood, fortunately the smell does not come through in the photos.
Or Yehuda Municipality provided a response: “In light of the residents’ appeal to the municipality, during the month of July, the “Alon Metal” company carried out a treatment of everything that lies in the residential buildings – both Gindi and Azorim, all this despite the fact that this is not an issue that is the responsibility of the municipality.
Recently, we have again witnessed cases where the removal of the garbage leaves water trails and therefore we again contacted the company and Gindi to take care of the dumps in question. We will conduct a review and follow-up on this in order to ensure the preservation of the residents’ quality of life.”
