Thiruvananthapuram: The Chief Minister called a 16-year-old boy who ran away from home and came to meet the Chief Minister to his office and inquired about matters. Devanandan, a native of Kuttyadi Kakuni, Kozhikode, made an adventurous journey to the capital to meet the Chief Minister. The incident happened on Saturday.

Devanandan boarded the Eranad Express from Vadakara on Saturday morning and reached Thiruvananthapuram around 9 pm. From Thampanoor, he reached the Devaswom Board Junction where the Cliff House is located by auto and asked the policemen who were in charge of security to go to the Chief Minister’s house. Suspicious, the police took the boy to the Museum Police Station. The father Tharkandi informed Rajeev that the police had bought him food at night and that the boy was safe. The message from the police brought relief to the panic-stricken parents. In the morning, Rajeevan reached the museum station.

When it was said that the absconding was to meet the Chief Minister, the police informed the concerned people. Chief Minister Devanandan and his father Rajeev were called to the chamber after learning about the incident. Devanandan’s complaint was that the family had taken money from a private money-lending institution on interest and they were being harassed as the repayments failed. The Chief Minister listened to the matter patiently and lovingly admonished the student for traveling without telling his family. After instructing them not to go anywhere without telling their family members, they were sent away. The chief minister also directed to see if the government can do anything about the complaint raised by Devanandan.

Devanandan is happy that the purpose of the trip has been fulfilled as the Chief Minister is willing to listen to his complaint. Avala is a student of Higher Secondary School Plus One Humanities.
