The detectives of the special anti-crime unit at the Netanya police station, in cooperation with YSM Sharon soldiers, carried out a proactive operation this morning (Sunday) near the Shekma prison in Ashkelon, in which the police detained 15 suspects residents of Netanya who came to the scene on the occasion of the release of a senior criminal. The police removed a number of suspicious vehicles from the road and detained for questioning all the passengers, on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs and means of protection.
In the meantime, during the search, the police seized an airsoft gun, 3 bulletproof vests, knives, batons and more.
As mentioned, the police detained all the occupants of the vehicles, when at the end of their investigation and in accordance with the needs of the investigation, the possibility of requesting an extension of their detention will be examined.
