Rohit Sharma Answers Why Rishabh Pant Was Dropped From Playing XI During Toss

Hyderabad: Team India is going to win the T20 series against Australia. The arrival of Rohit Sharma and his team has brought about a change in the playing eleven in the crucial third T20I. Why did India drop Rishabh Pant, who is widely described as the X-factor, in a must-win match? Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was defeated in the first T20I, also knows the reason that prompted him to give it another chance.
Rohit Sharma answers why Rishabh Pant was left out of the playing XI during the toss. India fielded only four bowlers in the last T20I, which was shortened to eight overs. That is why Bhuvneshwar Kumar had to sit out that day and Rishabh came to the playing eleven. But as the match will be played in 20 overs each, Bhuvi was called back to the XI considering the bowling option. With the return of star pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the last match, the reason behind the team selection is that India no longer needs to rely on Bhuvi in the death overs.
Bhuvi conceded 52 runs in five overs when India lost the first T20 in Mohali. Bhuvneshwar gave 15 and 16 runs each in the slog overs. Bhuvi was not dropped when the second T20 in Nagpur was shortened to 8 overs due to rain. Rishabh was given a chance as an extra batsman. India gave opportunity to four bowlers namely Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal. All-rounder Hardik Pandya was the fifth bowler. Harshal, Bumrah and Axar bowled two each and Pandya and Chahal bowled an over each to complete the eight overs.
Bumrah and Harshal are likely to handle the death overs in the final T20 of the series in Hyderabad today. But Harshal’s death over excellence is also being questioned in his comeback after injury. Matthew Wade hit three sixes in the last over in Nagpur and Harshal conceded 19 runs. But India won the match by six wickets.
