18.88 lakh gold seized Dinamalar

Chennai: SriLankan flight from Sri Lanka arrived in Chennai yesterday. Customs officials got information that a passenger was smuggling gold.
Subsequently, a passenger who tried to leave the airport was intercepted and searched by the customs officials. During the search, it was found that a package containing gold paste was hidden in the anus. After seizing it and evaluating the gold, 428 grams of gold valued at Rs 18.88 lakh was found. Authorities are investigating after seizing the gold.
