Coimbatore: In the Duleep Cup final against the South Zone team, the West Zone team won the championship by a huge margin of 294 runs. West Zone scored 270 runs and South Zone scored 327 runs in the first innings of the match at SNR College ground. West Zone played the 2nd innings trailing by 57 runs and declared 585 runs for the loss of 4 wickets (128 overs). Opener Yashashvi Jaiswal scored 265 runs, Panjal 40, Shreyas 71 and captain Rakhine returned to the pavilion with 15 runs. Sarbaraz Khan was unbeaten on 127 and Hed Patel was unbeaten on 51.

Following this, South Zone, which started with a Himalayan target of 529 runs to win, had scored 154 runs for the loss of 6 wickets at the end of the 4th day.
