Hyderabad: Captain Rohit Sharma openly admits that the death over bowling of the Indian cricket team is a concern. Rohit’s confession came after Jasprit Bumrah, Harshal Patel and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were beaten up in the death overs in the T20 series against Australia. Rohit Sharma also stated that the team will have to solve this problem before the T20 World Cup next month.

“There’s a lot of room for improvement. Especially in our death over bowling. Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah came into the team after a long injury break. It is not easy to bowl against Aussie middle-order. Coming off the break, both need time to get back into form. Bumrah and Harshal are expected to come back strong. But the whole team performed well. The most important feature of the series is the performance of different players with bat and ball. As a captain, it is a pleasure to watch these performances. Rohit Sharma said after the match that he will learn from small failures.

It was the poor bowling in the death overs that paved the way for the Indian team to exit the Asia Cup cricket tournament. After this, against the Aussies, all the Indian bowlers failed in the death overs. The Aussie batsmen scored 53 runs in the last three overs in the first T20 in Mohali. The Aussies scored 31 runs in the last two overs in the second T20I, which was reduced to 8 overs each due to rain. The Aussies scored 46 runs in the last three overs in the third T20I. The top three pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel have all played the game in the death overs in various matches.

While the Aussies won by four wickets in the first T20 in Mohali, death over bowling remained a concern, but India’s six-wicket wins in Nagpur and Hyderabad gave the team a 2-1 series win ahead of the World Cup. In the third T20I, India achieved the target of 187 runs for the loss of four wickets with one ball to spare. Suryakumar Yadav (69 off 36 balls), Virat Kohli (63 off 48 balls) and Axar Patel (three wickets off 33 balls) made India win. He was selected as the star of the Sky competition and Aksar series.
