Hartal violence; A Popular Front activist who tried to endanger the policemen by hitting his bike was arrested

Kollam: Popular Front activist arrested for assaulting police officers on hartal day. The accused Shamnad was arrested by the police in the case of endangering the officers by hitting them with a bike. Two police officers were injured in the incident. The incident happened in Kollam Pallimuk.

The attack happened when he was trying to stop the passengers from insulting him. Senior civil police officer Antony and CPO Nikhil were injured. Then they were admitted to the hospital.

The popular front hartal was announced in Kerala after the NIA conducted extensive inspections in popular front offices in various places in the country. As part of this, the Popular Front workers have unleashed widespread attacks in the state. The violence involved pelting stones at the KSRTC bus, breaking windows and threatening to close shops.

A total of 308 cases of hartal violence have been registered in the state so far. 1287 accused in various acts of violence were arrested. 834 people were taken into custody. 25 cases were registered in Thiruvananthapuram city. 52 people are under arrest. 151 people are in reserve detention. 27 cases have been registered in Kollam city. 169 people were arrested. 13 people are in custody.
