5 killed in building collapse in Kenya

Five people were killed when a six-storey building collapsed in Kenya’s Kiambu city.

A six-storey building collapsed yesterday in Kiambu, central Kenya. Five people have died, and rescue operations are underway to rescue those trapped in the debris.

Kiambu City Governor Kimani Wamatangi said rescuers rescued a child from the rubble and some of those rescued were seriously injured and hospitalized.

The cause of the collapse of the building is being investigated. It is believed that the building collapsed due to poor design and irregular construction system.
