Madurai: The Madurai branch of the Madurai High Court yesterday ordered to send a notice to the Tamil Nadu government in the case of encroachment of lands belonging to Darumapuram Atheenam.
Ramanathapuram Markandan filed a PIL yesterday in the Madurai Branch of the High Court:
Mayiladuthurai Dharumapuram Atheenam owns properties in many places in Tamil Nadu. There is a 3.5 acre piece of land belonging to Adheenam, near the Tiruchendur Subramania Swamy Temple; It is occupied by some. I sent a petition to the charity department for recovery. Action should be ordered.

The bench of Justices R. Mahadevan, J. Sathya Narayanaprasad, which heard the petition, adjourned the matter to the 29th, ordering a ‘notice’ to be sent to the Charity Commissioner, Tirunelveli Joint Commissioner.
