England ‘offers’ to be neutral venue for India-Pakistan Test series, BCCI ‘not interested’ | England expressed interest in hosting India-Pakistan Test series

Mumbai,

A bilateral Test series was held between India and Pakistan cricket teams in 2007. The two teams have not played each other in bilateral Test series since then. The two countries have not played each other on tour due to years of lingering political issues.

Currently, the England team is touring Pakistan and playing a 7-match T20 cricket series. During the series, the England and Wales Cricket Board’s vice-chairman Martin Tarlow had spoken to the Pakistan Cricket Board about holding India and Pakistan Test matches in England, according to an English newspaper.

The BCCI has categorically stated that there is no possibility of India-Pakistan bilateral series being held in the next few years, even if the England Cricket Board made the offer for their own commercial gains.

A senior BCCI executive said, “First, the England Cricket Board spoke to Pakistan about the India-Pakistan series, which is a bit different. Anyway, the series against Pakistan is not something that BCCI will decide. It is the government’s decision. The current position is that we will play multi-team series with Pakistan.” Let’s just play,” he said.
