The death toll has risen to 68 after a boat carrying Hindu devotees to the famous Bodheswari temple capsized in a river in Bangladesh.
Officials said on Tuesday:
More bodies were recovered during rescue operations at the site of the boat accident on the Korota River on Sunday. After that, the death toll in the accident rose to 68. Apart from this, search operations are on for 20 people who went missing after the accident, officials said.
The centuries-old Bodheshwari Temple is located in the Panchak district of Bangladesh. A boat carrying devotees to the temple on the occasion of Navratri capsized in the river on Sunday.
Eyewitnesses said that there were 150 people in the boat when the accident happened.
