BCCI sources said that the England Cricket Board would stand by if India and Pakistan plan to play a bilateral Test series, but the Indian Cricket Board has refused to do so. England and Wales Cricket Board vice-chairman Martin Tarlow has said that he has held talks with the Pakistan Cricket Board and decided to offer England’s grounds as the venue for the three-match Test series against India. It is said that this project is being taken up for the income of the England Cricket Board. However, BCCI is reportedly denying that this is not possible for the next few years.

“First, the England Cricket Board spoke to the Pakistan Cricket Board about the India-Pakistan series. Anyway, the series against Pakistan is not something for the BCCI to decide, it is the decision of the Indian government. As of now, we will play Pakistan only in ICC-run matches,” a senior BCCI official told England. He said.

India and Pakistan last played an ODI series in India in 2012 and last played a Test series in 2007. Due to the tense political situation between the two countries, the matches have not been held. England has come forward to host these matches as it will generate huge income if the India-Pakistan match is held.

If India and Pakistan matches are held, it can be very profitable in terms of income. Like India, the Pakistan Cricket Board is said to be uninterested in England. After the firing of the Sri Lankan team in Pakistan, no country has toured Pakistan, now teams are starting to come to Pakistan again. Thus denying that it would be a regressive step in their view if they had to play at a neutral ground.
