What are you watching tonight: The Psychopath who ate his way to number one on Netflix

by time news

How they like it: Netflix once again returns to their favorite subject, which was born as a crime docu-obsession but developed into a psychotic cinematic world of series about serial killers. And this time they return to one of the most notorious killers, Jeffrey Dahmer, who is remembered not only for his 17 victims, but also for his specific choice of young African-American and LGBT victims, and also for the work that he was a cannibal who ate the bodies of his victims. You know, what Which Netflix defines as a potential hit.

Well, they were right too. The series “Dahmer – Monster: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer” appeared on the streaming service a week ago and almost immediately jumped to first place on the list of Netflix’s most watched series in more than 90 countries, including Israel. Of course, this is not only related to the subject, but also to the creator of the series – Ryan Murphy, who is responsible for half of the entertainment content on Netflix and also for the “American Horror” series, so this is definitely not the first time he deals with blood.

If you happen to hate Murphy’s campy and toned down style, don’t worry – because for Dahmer’s story he took a much more realistic approach, which follows the killer’s story from his childhood to the moment he is caught (which is actually presented in full in the first episode). For this he recruited a number of excellent actors, including Evan Peters (who also starred in “American Horror” but is remembered no less as Quicksilver in “X-Men”) and the wonderful Richard Jenkins (the father from “Deep in the Ground”) who plays his father of the killer.
