iRobot has launched a vacuum cleaner with a solution that no one else has

by time news

The iRobot company, who was among the pioneers in the field of robotic vacuum cleaners, announced long after everyone else its first vacuum cleaner that also combines washing and mopping the floor: the Roomba Combo j7+ is the new model sold at a price of 1,099 dollars.

The vacuum cleaner has smart suction capabilities throughout the house and is able to map the space of the room, identify and bypass obstacles and also increase the power of suction automatically when it steps on carpets. It has a front camera and a collection tank at the back and its round structure is quite similar to the other recent models of the company.

What sets Roomba Combo j7+ apart is the removable mop head. So instead of having to attach the cleaning cloth every time like the competitors, in iRobot it is located at the top and is able to drop or return to its place automatically just before it rolls on the carpet.

Its collection tank also incorporates a water tank with a volume of 210 cc, which drips into a microfiber cloth during the simultaneous combined washing with suction. Upon arrival at the charging station, it empties the dust automatically, but the user will have to refill the water tank himself. Today there are vacuum cleaners that have a clean water tank and cleaning brushes, so iRobot still has a long way to go to close the gap with the competition.

The launch of the Combo J7 Plus will take place next month, and it is currently on pre-sale in the US.
