Once again a car was stolen from the parking lot of a building in Gani Tikva with annoying ease. During the holiday, a luxury Nissan X-Trail Jeep was stolen from a parking lot on Eilot Road 6. In the footage from the security cameras in the parking lot, the thieves are seen waiting for one of the residents to enter with his vehicle and open the parking lot gate, then they light after him before the gate closes and enter the parking lot. The thieves, who arrived with a vehicle with a stolen license plate, are not confused and immediately spray the sensor of the electric gate so that it remains open and allows them to drive away with the vehicle they covet.

“From a report we received from the municipal police, we realized that the stolen vehicle was already on Route 6 within a few minutes,” one of the residents of the building tells us. “According to what I understand, there have been several more thefts in the neighborhood during the past few days, this is a real blow. From a conversation with the security officer I was told that he volunteered the police vehicles for the benefit of the matter, but unfortunately this is not what deters the thieves.

“I would like to see more patrols on the streets, because that way there is a greater chance that the thieves will be caught, and if they are caught they will also be deterred and come here less,” adds the tenant. “We need to come in a quiet manner and not with squeals and start catching them. We must make a change and eradicate the phenomenon, it feels as if we live in the Negev and not in a local council in the center of the country.”

The Gani Tikva council gave a response: The phenomenon of theft is a serious problem all over the country and unfortunately also in Gani Tikva. The head of the council, Lizzie Delricha, spoke this morning in light of the case with the director of the Masovim police station and asked to increase enforcement and police presence in Gani Tikva.

On this occasion, we invite the residents to join the neighborhood watch in order to eradicate this phenomenon as much as possible.”
