French hostages of the Islamic State: the chilling story of jailer Alexanda Kotey, one of Daesh’s “Beatles”

It is a very important document to better understand one of the heinous facets of the Islamic State (IS). On March 8, the anti-terrorist investigating judge Bertrand Grain, in charge of the case of hostages kidnapped in Syria in 2013-2014, was able to travel to the United States to question Alexanda Kotey, one of the jailers who is a member of the “Beatles”. This was the name given by the captives themselves to this quartet of British jihadists very involved in their ordeal. Arrested in Syria with his sidekick Shafee el-Sheikh, then transferred to the United States, where he accepted a guilty plea procedure, Alexanda Kotey (“Ringo”) was sentenced to life imprisonment last April.
