LONDON: A coin was issued in the name of King Charles III of Britain. A coin designed by British sculptor Martin Jennings has been approved by King Charles. The Royal Mint issued five dollars and 50 pence coins. It will be circulated among the public this year itself. In keeping with royal tradition, Charles’ portrait is facing left.

Queen Elizabeth was facing right on the coin. According to custom, the side of each adhikari is changed. A text has also been added which means ‘King Charles III, by the grace of God, defender of the faith’. Coinage bearing the name of Queen Elizabeth will remain in circulation. There are 27 billion coins in circulation in the UK featuring Queen Elizabeth.
