Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused Western countries and the United States of playing a double role in the international law and order issue.
He recalled the historical events like the Western countries enslaving and exploiting the resources of other countries of the world including India, America’s nuclear attack on Japan.
In a speech at St. George’s Arena in Moscow, after signing the document on the annexation of 4 provinces of Ukraine to Russia, he said:
The US and the West are taking lessons from the international legal order. But who defines that legal order? Where is such a legal order? Who accepts and approves whether a particular issue is legal or disorderly?
In fact, the West’s talk of international legal order is a double whammy. In fact, it is more than that.
They talk about international law and order because they think all the people of the world are idiots.
Russia is a complete civilization and superpower that has flourished for thousands of years. The country does not need to obey the fake norms defined by some people.
Historical crimes committed by Western countries against other countries are being blamed on their own people and the people of other countries.
It is the Western countries that talk about international legal order that spread their colonial rule over the world in the last centuries; Slaves were engaged in the trade of transporting humans like animals; Indians, Americans and Africans were killed in groups. These acts are against humanity, truth, freedom and justice.
Western countries are ordered not to change the borders of countries. But who gave the western countries the right to decide that this is the border of a country? They have decided that this is the border and warn that the border should not be changed.
America: America is the only country in the world to have dropped nuclear bombs on civilians not once, but twice, warning of Russia’s use of nuclear weapons. The destruction of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki by nuclear weapons in Japan set an example for the world.
In his speech, Vladimir Putin mentioned that America has left an indelible scar on the minds of the people of that country by throwing destructive carpet bombs, aluminum powder (NAPAM) bombs and chemical weapons not only in Japan, but also in Korea and Vietnam.
In 2014, Western supporters engaged in intense protests against President Viktor Yanukovych, who ruled Ukraine. After that, his regime was overthrown.
Following that, the Klachik forces, with the help of Russia, captured large parts of Luhansk and Donetsk provinces in the Donbass region of eastern Ukraine. At the same time, Russia also invaded the Crimea region of Ukraine and annexed the peninsula.
In this context, Russia invaded that country on February 24 last year, protesting Ukraine’s joining NATO.
As part of it, Russia annexed the Donetsk and Luhansk provinces in the east of Ukraine bordering Russia and the Zaporizhzhya and Khozan regions in the south.
In a referendum held last week in those regions – declared invalid by the West – Russia announced that 97 percent of them wanted to join.
Subsequently, Russia on Friday annexed the said 4 provinces as part of its country.
In a statement issued by the Council of Europe condemning this, it accused the annexation of Ukrainian territories to Russia in violation of the international legal order.
US President Joe Biden also condemned this connection.
