New York: The death toll from the most severe storm that hit Florida has increased to 47.

A severe hurricane called Ian hit the state of Florida in the United States on September 28. It is considered to be one of the worst storms to hit the United States. When the storm made landfall, it had sustained hurricane-force winds of 150 mph (241 km/h). It rained heavily. In many areas, sea water overflowed the roads.

Thousands of houses and shops were damaged. More than one crore people are suffering without electricity. In this situation, many places that were flooded have now started receding. Some of these bodies have been identified. The death toll has increased to 47.

More than 1,000 people were rescued from flooded areas and taken to safer places yesterday. Rivers have receded. Rescue operations are being carried out in full swing.

PM Modi condoles the victims of the storm in America. In his obituary, he said, ‘At this difficult time, all our thoughts are with the American people.’
