The Naxals dominate the Katchiroli district of the Maratha state. The Naxals have been roaming the Boria forest for many years. The Naxalite Prevention Unit police received a tip-off about the location of the Naxal hideout in the forest.

Accordingly, they engaged in an intensive search hunt there. Then there was a gun battle between the Naxals and the police. Of these, 26 were killed by the Naxals. Police said 3 people were injured.
