Thiruvananthapuram: Three people drowned while taking a bath in Vatta Kayam in Kallar. Two people were admitted to the hospital in critical condition. The deceased have been identified as Firoz (30), a police officer at Thiruvananthapuram SAP camp, his elder brother Jawad (35) and their nephew Sahwan (16).

They belong to a group of eight from Bimapalli. It is reported that three people jumped into the water to save the 20-year-old girl who was with her when she was caught in the boat. It is alleged that they have entered the cave after ignoring the warning given by the local residents and the resort staff.

The group came down to Kayam after removing the barbed wire and closing it. The bodies were shifted to Vitura Hospital. There was an accident here six months ago. Accidents have happened here before. This is a very deep place.

A group of eight people reached Kallar because the Ponmudi road was damaged. The girl who was in the group was the first to fall into the car. Four people who were with him jumped into the water to save him. The locals rushed to the shore after hearing the screams of those who were with them. It is reported that the girl who is undergoing treatment has overcome the danger level.

There were two men, two boys and four girls in the group.
