It is enough for an actor to become involved in his character; Others happen automatically.
When can a film or work be said to be successful? After watching that movie, I must have been reeling from its effects for a few days. The actors who played in it should be remembered only through their characters beyond their image. Every time we think about that film again, a feeling shakes us. ‘Asuran’ is the only film that almost completes such features. This is the film directed by Vetrimaran which was shot in very few days. But, we can say that he has achieved what he thought of in this film. Even if there are some flaws in the cinematography, they all fly like dust in front of the essence of the story.
Experience is the teacher!
This movie has taught us a lot. In this, the dialogue spoken by Sivasamy in the climax about the importance of education has stuck in everyone’s mind even today. There has been a lot of talk about caste atrocities and the reactions to them. The important aspect that we need to see in this film is the experience of life. Maturity of a father past 40 years. The experience he has gained from the life he has passed till then is definitely the best lesson for us. Because no one is willing to listen and pay close attention to the experiences of the elderly these days. Today’s generation has such a nature. A curse indeed.
As a father, every word spoken by Shivaswamy is a lesson for us. Not only in words but also in his actions. A scene of them guarding is enough to understand it. Sivasamy would tell who was coming by hearing the noise. The eldest son will observe his father’s experience. That is why he has a question and talks to his father about it. But the younger Chidambaram too is indifferent. His indifference becomes a nuisance there. But even that doesn’t make sense to him. That is, the wild boar will come in to graze the white. They prepare with daggers to hunt the boar. How to walk on that public land is an experience. A sound will be heard when feet are placed on Sarugu and Melar. To avoid that, Shivasami will watch the feet. But, without Chidambaram’s knowledge of it, the pig learns the sound of placing his feet on small sticks. Then their plan will be ruined.
Shivaswamy would tell Chidambaram that he should not make light on the mountaintop as it would be like showing the way to those who follow him. Chidambaram would not have understood it properly. That’s why he will later get stuck with those who chased him by a similar act. It is only because he fully realizes the nature of the situation that Sivasamy is in the film. But once he cut someone with a knife or something, he would be in the tenawat of ‘I know how to look after myself’. That is adolescent disorder.

Dhanush at the peak of acting!
Although Vetrimaran is the master of this film, it is definitely not an exaggeration if Dhanush is the one who gave life to this story in a way. This is not to belittle the director’s contribution, Dhanush would have acted as if the life of Sivasamy’s character had lived in Dhanush’s body for a while. Dhanush can be seen reaching a peak in his performance in all the scenes. He would have taken pinyin like that in drunken and staggered scenes. It can be said that there are no words to describe his performance. It is enough for an actor to blend into his character. Others happen automatically. Director Vetrimaran has revealed this in many interviews. He had said that Dhanush’s cooperation for this film was immense. Dhanush also spoke highly of the character of Sivasamy.
What did the monster break?
Asuran movie Katramana had an embryo. Beyond Vekkai’s novel, he had emphatically recorded his opinion on the subject he was talking about. There is such a gap between the novel and the film. Only a 5 to 10 percent is novel. Everything else is Vetrimaran Creative. The movie Asuran openly talks about caste-based oppression. The film also reacts to caste oppression. It is important to note that before Asuraan there were many films that presented caste-based evils. In recent times, there has been a growing perception that only people belonging to the Scheduled Caste community can tell compelling pictures of their lives. Such a view was being put forward, if not widely. But the monster broke all that. One does not need to be born in the same community to say something evil or cruel. Just realizing it is enough. It is enough to research well and absorb the necessary material and create the work as error-free as possible. Asuran is unique in that way!!
